my everyday eye makeup

What you'll need:

I've done tutorials before on specific looks using my Urban Decay Naked Palette (which I still love and use all the time) but I have to admit this palette is my new favorite! Everything about it is gorgeous and perfect, including the golden mirrored case it's in! The colors in the palette just happen to be the perfect colors to use with my eye color for an everyday eye makeup look.  I wanted to walk y'all through what that looks like for me...

Start with a matte light color to apply on your brow bone.  Using this matte color keep any new eyeshadow growth from showing as much, anything with shimmer is going to bring out that new growth which we don't want!

Next grab a neutral shimmer for just the eyelid under your crease.

Now get another matte color for your crease, that way it won't show lines throughout the day and it also blends much easier.

Now use a darker shade to fill in that outside corner of each eye to elongate the eyes and give contrast.

This step is optional but I usually do it because it really lightens up the look and gives a fun glow.  Use a golden shimmer on the inside corners of your eyes.

Use your liner and create a nice thin line under your bottom lashes.  I will sometimes smudge this line or make it thicker for a more dramatic look.

I then apply my liquid eyeliner to the top lid.  I love this bronze shimmery liquid liner because it gives that perfect line that a liquid liner can give, but isn't overly dramatic so it is perfect for everyday wear.

Finally I apply my mascara...am I the only one who believes it's physically impossible to apply mascara with your mouth closed? :)

And the look is complete!

As much as I love looking through eye makeup tutorials on overly dramatic looks, sometimes I find myself learning more and getting better ideas from everyday makeup tutorials! Hopefully this has been your experience with this one too!

lightweight leopard

Top: TJMaxx (how adorable is this similar look) // Shorts: Forever21 (similar) // Wedges: Jessica Simpson // Necklace: Etsy (craving this similar look) // Bracelets: Tory Burch, old - similar; Kate Spade // Wristlet: Louis Vuitton // Earrings: Kate Spade

This top is yet another of my favorite TJMaxx finds! A sleeveless button up has to be done just right and I love the flowy back detail on this one! The lightweight material is perfect for the heat and humidity we have had lately. I know I've practically worn out these wedges but they are seriously the most comfortable wedges I own and look great with just about everything!
This outfit was a fun flirty weeknight date night outfit. Aren't weeknight dates the best? I always feel like it's a little taste of the weekend midweek. I can hardly believe its already Friday!
See, I told you it helps! :)

Labor Day Look

Top: JCrew // Pants: Beja Flor // Flats: Tory Burch // Necklace: Lily Pulitzer (similar) // Earrings: Kate Spade // Bangles: Kate Spade // Handbag: gift (similar)

I wanted to savor all the light summer pieces I could from my closet on Labor Day! This look encompasses everything I love about summer fashion - white, light, and casual chic! I adore this lightweight top.  Not only does it have a classic color combination that is easily paired with any type of skirt or pant, it has that lightweight linen texture that appears wrinkled but maintains its preppy classic style.  As much as I love summer fashion, I can't wait to curl into some comfy fall sweaters and boots...if we can kick this awful heat, that is!

summer sage

Top: Painted Threads via Nordstrom // Jeans: JCrew // Wedges: G by Guess (craving) // Handbag: Louis Vuitton // Bangles: Jamesandjoco (craving this adorable necklace in her collection)// Watch: Michael Kors // Necklace: JCrew (craving)

I was smitten with this top the first time I saw it online! The color, for one, is perfect because the light shade of the sage is able to act as a neutral and be paired with colored skinny jeans or act on its own, like I did with just regular jeans! Who doesn't love an oversized top for those days when you don't feel like sucking in all day; we all do it, right?!  But at least this top is cute enough that you don't look like you're having one of those days! I look forward to styling this same top for fall with boots and the perfect scarf! Stay tuned!

Don't forget to shop the amazing Labor Day sales going on today! Check out my Memorial Day Sales Cheat Sheet post for details on my favorite sales happening!

Sunday Crochet

Crochet Dress: TJMaxx (similar) // Wedges: Calvin Klein (similar, dying for these) // Handbag: Louis Vuitton // Earrings: gift (similar) // Watch: MK // Bangles: Kate Spade

Don't you just love when you find the perfect item you never knew you needed and at a great price?! I practically stole this dress from TJMaxx at $16!!! I adore the 'sweeheart' cut of the top of this dress; it's both flattering and feminine. I originally bought this to wear to the Lady Antebellum concert back in the spring, which it was perfect for.  I haven't been able to stop wearing it since! It seemed like the perfect option to wear to brunch after church this past Sunday. No doubt this dress will continue to be one of my staple comfortable cotton dresses!
