Sunday Crochet

Crochet Dress: TJMaxx (similar) // Wedges: Calvin Klein (similar, dying for these) // Handbag: Louis Vuitton // Earrings: gift (similar) // Watch: MK // Bangles: Kate Spade

Don't you just love when you find the perfect item you never knew you needed and at a great price?! I practically stole this dress from TJMaxx at $16!!! I adore the 'sweeheart' cut of the top of this dress; it's both flattering and feminine. I originally bought this to wear to the Lady Antebellum concert back in the spring, which it was perfect for.  I haven't been able to stop wearing it since! It seemed like the perfect option to wear to brunch after church this past Sunday. No doubt this dress will continue to be one of my staple comfortable cotton dresses!

Happy shopping y'all!

trendy with a touch of traditional

Peplum Top: JCrew // Skinny Jeans: H&M (craving these) // Heels: Christian Louboutin // Crossbody: Kate Spade (similar) // Bangles: Kate Spade // Earrings: Tory Burch // Necklace: Natasha Couture (similar, craving)

I found this necklace recently and loved the contrasting modern style of the necklace studded with a typically more traditional accent - pearls! I felt like it summed up my style in necklace form ... trendy with a touch of traditional! The fact that it ties to a bow in the back was just the icing on the cake!
I also have to confess that my messy looking fishtail braid took much longer than it looks like it took! I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my hair and attaining that "messy perfection" was a process to say the least!

playing with patterns

Midi Skirt: Matty M (on sale) // Crop Top: Fiore Boutique (similar) // Heels: Giani Bini (similar, craving) // Clutch: Tory Burch // Earrings: Tory Burch - old (similar) // Watch: MK // Bracelet: Stella & Dot //

I found this gorgeous midi skirt at tjmaxx and couldn't wait to style it.  My first inclination was to find a solid top, and then I had a revelation.  I realized that lately my favorite looks I've seen on blogs I follow and pinned are styled with mixed patterns. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to give this a try myself.  I absolutely love this crop top and wore it previously with solid shorts (click here to see that post).  I love the mixture of the fun geometric pattern paired with the flowy romantic style of the top. Its definitely different, but who wants to be plain and mainstream anyways!?! Next time you wear a fun bold pattern, try throwing in another bold print in the mix!
I also have to confess that as much as I wish my hair magically grew and thickened beautifully overnight since my last post, I have a new favorite beauty product in my life ... hair extensions.  All the credit for these gorgeous extensions goes to Kelly Moore, my hair dresser and practical family member! She did my hair for the first time when I was getting ready for my 8th grade dance and she hasn't missed a big event in my life since! She deserves all the credit for my good hair days, especially now that she made me these gorgeous extensions!  They easily clip in my hair when I want a more glamorous full look, and won't damage my hair when I just want to go with a natural look.  If you live in or around Greenville and are looking for a hair dresser, it doesn't get better than Kelly at Innovations Salon!

Savoring Summer Fashion

Top: Forever 21- (similar) // Pants: Beja Flor // Wedges: Bucco - Old (similar, craving) // Clutch: JCrew (similar) // Bracelet: Kate Spade // Sunglasses: Nordstrom  // Earrings: Monday Dress (craving)

Its hard to believe its beyond mid August! School has officially started for me and this outfit served as a "date night / you survived your first day of school" dinner outfit.  As I'm realizing how close we are to summer weather coming to an end, I want to make sure I savor all of my favorite summer fashions! One of my hardest summer clothing items I fight to give up each year are my white pants - especially now that I found these amazing Beja Flor gems! I also have loved the tulip shirt/open back trend this summer! Wear all your summer favorites while you still can, y'all! Fall will be here before we know it!

Happy shopping (and summer savoring) y'all!

Wedding Makeup Must Haves

I am so excited to be traveling this weekend to Buffalo, NY for our great friend's wedding! We are thrilled to be a part of their special day, but I am also excited to have the honor of doing the bride's wedding makeup! Y'all know how much I love to do makeup and this was the perfect excuse to get some new products to make sure everything is absolutely perfect for her big day!
I want to share with y'all some of the products I'm most excited about using to ensure her makeup not only looks fabulous, but most importantly stays that way all evening!

The first product I want to share is the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

I used this for my wedding and have sworn by it ever since! This product contains oil absorbers to minimize shine and create a smooth, matte finish that lasts!

Every bride wants to glow on her wedding day and the Sephora Collection Bronzer (in 'Aruba') is by far my favorite! It is a gorgeous natural golden tone with just the right amount of shimmer!

A recent find I'm excited about using is the Stila "Eyes are the Window" palette in 'spirit'

I went to the store specifically to purchase the Naked 3 palette because I think the colors are perfect for a bridal look...and then I came across this beauty! I've been trying out different color combo's all week and I haven't found one I didn't like yet! I can't wait to post a tutorial with this palette! I, of course, used the Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion underneath this shadow and there wasn't a crease in sight!

I also fell in love with the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof liner in 'Lionfish' - it goes perfectly with this palette, and waterproof is always necessary for wedding makeup! I plan on finishing the eyes with some gorgeous lashes and the Stila Major Lash Mascara

The final product I'm excited to use is the Urban Decay "All Nighter" Long Lasting Makeup Spray

I can't wait to share the finished product!

Happy shopping y'all!

Yes way, Rose'

Shirt: t + j designs (also craving) use code thankyou3 for 30% off // Skirt: Local Boutique (similar) // Heels: Christian Louboutin // Bow Bracelet: Urbanite // Earrings: Kate Spade (craving) // Handbag: Louis Vuitton

How amazing is this graphic tee?!  There's a lot more where this came from! Don't miss their 'friends and family' sale where you can get 30% off of your purchase! I wore this outfit to my brother and future sister-in-law's "stock the bar shower" over the weekend.  Has there ever been a more appropriate event for this shirt? I think not.
I must confess how much I look forward to my glass of wine (or two) in the evenings.  One of my favorite wines to drink in the summertime is rose', Espiral Rose' to be exact.  This wine happens to be the most gorgeous color of pink and has a slight bubble to it, making it all the more fancy and wonderful tasting.  The best attribute of this wine - the price, trader joes sells it for about $6.
I love when I can share two things I love in one post - fashion and wine!

Happy shopping (and sipping) y'all!
